Sheikh-Ul-Alam College of Education is affiliated with theUniversity of Kashmir. This means the B.Ed and BBA degrees are awarded by the University of Kashmir, one of the premier universities in J&K.

The college was established in 2002. It is named after Sheikh-ul-Alam (Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani / Nund Rishi), the beloved patron saint-poet of Kashmir.

Eligibility is set by the University of Kashmir. You may apply if you have:

• A Bachelor's degree (10+2+3) with at least 50% marks (General) / 45% (Reserved) — in the Bachelor's and/or Master's degree — in Sciences, Social Sciences, or Humanities; or
• A B.E./B.Tech with specialisation in Science and Mathematics with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent recognised qualification; or
• Graduate teachers (10+2+2) with at least two years' teaching experience in Government or Government-recognised schools.

The sanctioned intake for the B.Ed programme is 100 seats. The BBA intake is [To be updated]. The college currently has approximately 200 enrolled students across all programmes.

The B.Ed programme is a two-year, four-semester programme. Students complete two semesters per year over two academic years.

The college does not award its own scholarships — it helps eligible students apply and verifies and forwards their applications.
